Neon Hum is currently looking for a producer with exceptional audio and editorial skills to help produce a new scripted historical documentary podcast project.

The ideal candidate for this position will bring leadership, organization, and exceptional storytelling skills to a wide breadth of podcast products. Special consideration is given to producers with a strong journalism background, and with experience in both documentary and scripted fiction.

Your Role:

  • Alongside the Senior Producer and executive staff, perform the following duties related to the production of the podcast:

  • Booking guests.

  • Producing and assisting the host in writing scripts.

  • Assembling initial mixes and organizing production assets.

  • Report regularly to Neon Hum’s executive staff, elevating appropriate concerns as needed; and

  • Other related production duties as required.  

What You Bring:

  • 3+ years audio production or related storytelling experience.

  • Experience producing audio content on tight deadlines. Public media or journalism background a plus.

  • Experience coaching and working with talent

  • A clear track record of producing innovative, diverse, and complex audio works.

  • Experience cultivating talent from multiple creative sectors and backgrounds.

  • Collaborative, team-driven approach to working.

  • Exceptional communication skills, and an unparalleled organizational ability.

  • High level of skill in audio production and writing.

  • Experience writing longform audio and documentary scripts.
