Neon Hum is currently looking for an editor with exceptional audio and storytelling skills to help Neon Hum produce a wide array of talk, scripted, and documentary programming.

The ideal candidate will bring leadership, organization, and exceptional storytelling skills to everything they do. Special consideration is given to editors with a strong journalism background, or several years experience editing longform podcast projects.

Your Role:

  • Edit for story, structure, and clarity a mix of talk, documentary, and fiction programming.

  • Shepherd the story development and structuring of long-term, major documentary programming.

  • Manage the editorial calendar for a number of podcast productions, leading editorial sessions, read-throughs, and group edits.

  • Ensure that Neon Hum documentaries are high quality, accurate and produced with the excellent editorial standards of all Neon Hum podcasts.

  • Liaise between clients, host, and production team to insure unity and on-time delivery of assets across multiple stakeholders.

  • Assist in the editing and development of limited-run and pilot projects for Neon Hum.

  • Reports to the Senior Editor, and assists on special projects as-needed.

What You Bring:

  • 5+ years audio editing or related storytelling experience.

  • Experience editing audio content on tight deadlines. Public media or journalism background a plus.

  • Experience coaching and working with talent

  • A clear track record of producing innovative, diverse, and complex audio works.

  • Experience cultivating talent from multiple creative sectors and backgrounds.

  • Collaborative, team-driven approach to working.

  • Exceptional communication skills, and an unparalleled organizational ability.

  • High level of skill in story editing and writing.

  • Experience writing longform audio or documentary scripts.
